About San Angelo State Park:
There are more than 7,500 acres of room to roam at San Angelo State Park, which is located adjacent to the O.C. Fisher Reservoir, source of San Angelo's water.
One of the highlights at San Angelo State Park is its buffalo herd. But there's also a herd of Texas longhorns in the park. And there are even llamas - visitors can climb aboard a llama for a llama-trekking outing.
Boating, fishing, hiking, birdwatching, mountain biking, horseback riding and nature study are some of the many activities visitors can participate in at San Angelo State Park.
Swimming is considered risky because of the extremely low level of the lake and an unsafe lake bottom. If you go into the water at all, wear shoes. And enter at your own risk.
There are plenty of campsites, plus RV hookups, available.
