About the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum:
The legendary law enforcement group known as the Texas Rangers is the oldest state law enforcement agency in the U.S. The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum celebrates the achievements and people of this organization, while telling its unique history.

The Hall of Fame memorializes the lives of Texas Rangers who lost their lives in the line of duty, or who served with great distinction. Among them are well-known heroes such as Sam Walker, Benjamin McCulloch and Bigfoot Wallace.

The Research Center is the official state archives of the Rangers, with photos, documents, oral histories, films, videotapes and more. There is also a geneology section dedicated to helping individuals trace relatives who served in the Rangers.

Among the artifacts on display are firearms used by the Rangers, including very early Colt pistols; and badges of the Rangers down through the years.

The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum is open daily at 9 a.m.; the last guest is admitted at 4:30 p.m. and the facility closes at 5 p.m. A modest admission fee is charged. Hours vary for the Research Center, so call ahead if you wish to visit that part of the facility.
